Nearly 30 years ago, friends Kathie Hicks and Peter Halley sparked Newfoundland’s multi-award-winning performance theatre with a coffee shop meeting that led to the first “dinner & show” in 1997. Since then, Spirit of Newfoundland has captivated thousands with over 90 original shows and 18 industry awards, transformed historic St. John’s venues into theatres, raised significant funds for non-profits, and showcased the unique hospitality of Newfoundland and Labrador—all while staying true to their mission of celebrating their province.
