Flanker Press is a leading force in Newfoundland and Labrador’s publishing industry. As the province’s most prolific trade book publisher, we release an average of twenty new titles annually, with a strong focus on regional non-fiction and historical fiction.

Our mission is to support local and regional writers by providing high-quality publishing services while actively promoting our authors and their books across Canada and beyond.

Based in Paradise, Flanker Press has grown from a part-time endeavor in 1994 into a thriving business with a dedicated team of eight full-time employees. In 2004, we expanded our reach with the launch of Pennywell Books, an imprint specializing in literary fiction, short stories, young adult fiction, and children’s books.
